2018 will provide 1 vaccine to protect against the flu. Quadrivalent (QIV)  Influenza Vaccine (TIV) which will protect against 3 strains of influenza (Two A strains & Two B strains).

(Q) Is the QIV vaccine better than the TIV?

QIV offers excellent protection against influenza protecting against the most prevalent influenza strains in circulation. QIV offers additional protection over the old trivalent influenza vaccine by adding another strain of influenza. B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus has been added to give better protection especially to those people who are most at risk or have a history of complications from the flu.
